About this design
Crossed Candy Canes with Bow is a classic holiday emblem. Two candy canes lean against each other in an X, their hooks curving outward at the top like a pair of shepherd’s crooks, and a ribbon bow is tied where they cross. The canes, stripes and bow work as a balanced, symmetrical badge.
The solid file is one connected piece, and the color version separates the canes, stripes and bow so each can be cut in its own color.

Size and cutting tips
This design passes our cut checks from about 1.5 inches tall. The bow loops have small openings; weed those first. For iron-on in three colors, press the canes first, then the stripes, then the bow.
At larger sizes, above 10 inches, the stripes become a strong graphic feature, which suits door signs and wall art.
Step by step: a front door sign
- Cut a wood round or a square board and paint it white.
- Download the color SVG and size it to fill the top half of the board.
- Cut the canes from red vinyl, the stripes from white and the bow from green.
- Apply the canes first, then the stripes, then the bow, using transfer tape for each layer.
- Add a family name below the emblem in your own font.
- Seal it with an outdoor clear coat if it will hang outside.
Good to know
The crossed shape is naturally symmetrical, so it centers easily on doors, shirts and signs without careful measuring.
Variations to try
- Swap the bow color to match your front door.
- Use gold canes and a red bow for a glam version.
