About this design
The Candy Cane with Bow dresses up the classic cane with a ribbon tied around its shaft. Two bow loops spread to the sides, a round knot sits on the cane and two ribbon tails hang below. Everything joins into one piece in the solid file, and the color version gives the bow its own layer.
The bow makes the cane look like a gift, so it is especially good for tags, presents and anything you are giving away.

Size and cutting tips
This design passes our cut checks from about 1.5 inches tall. The bow loops have small openings; weed them first. For three-color iron-on, press the cane, then the stripes, then the bow.
For gift toppers, cut two copies and glue them back to back with a loop of ribbon between them.
Step by step: a gift topper
- Download the color SVG and size it to 4 inches tall.
- Cut two cane-and-bow shapes from red glitter cardstock, the stripes from white and the bows from green.
- Layer the stripes and bow onto each cane.
- Glue the two canes back to back with a loop of real ribbon between them at the hook.
- Tie the topper onto a wrapped gift.
- Write the recipient’s name on the back.
Good to know
The bow sits low on the shaft, leaving the hook free to hang over a branch, a ribbon or the rim of a cup.
Variations to try
- Hang one from a mug of hot cocoa as a drink marker.
- Use gold glitter for the bow for extra sparkle.
A note on bows
If you want a fuller bow, cut the bow layer twice and glue the second slightly offset for a ruffled look.
Pairs well with
The Crossed Candy Canes with Bow and the Bow-Topped Bauble share the bow.
