About this design
The Shooting Christmas Star captures a star in motion. A five-point star tilted slightly to one side sits at the upper right, and three curved trails sweep away behind it toward the lower left, each a little longer and thinner than the one above. The design reads instantly as a wish, a bit of magic or a star on its way somewhere.
The star is one piece and the trails are separate, so you can cut them in different colors or materials.

Size and cutting tips
The trails are the slimmest part, so this design passes our cut checks from about 2 inches wide, and looks best from 4 inches upward. Keep the star and trails grouped when resizing so their spacing stays right.
For iron-on in two colors, cut the trails and star separately and press the trails first.
Step by step: a kids’ bedroom wall decal
- Download the color SVG and size it to 20 inches wide.
- Cut the star from gold removable vinyl and the trails from silver or pale blue.
- Weed both layers and apply transfer tape.
- Clean the wall with a dry cloth; avoid freshly painted walls, which need several weeks to cure.
- Place the star first, then line up the trails behind it.
- Burnish and peel the transfer tape slowly, back on itself.
Good to know
Removable vinyl peels off painted walls cleanly when it is time to redecorate, which makes it ideal for rentals and children’s rooms.
A note on direction
The star travels from lower left to upper right, which most readers see as moving forward and upward. If you need it to point the other way, flip it horizontally in your cutting software; the stripes of light still follow the curve.
