About this design
The Bow-Top Wreath turns the classic wreath upside down, at least as far as the bow goes. A thick ring is covered with twenty-six leaves, and a large bow sits on top, its loops spreading wide and its tails hanging over the upper part of the wreath. This is how many real wreaths are hung on doors, with the bow by the hanging ribbon.
The large bow makes a strong focal point, and the center is wide open for a name or a greeting.

Color ideas
The default color version uses a dark green ring, green leaves and a red bow. Other ideas:

Size and cutting tips
This wreath passes our cut checks from about 1.5 inches wide. The bow loops have small openings; weed them first. For door hangers, 14 to 18 inches gives the bow real presence.
For a layered look, cut the bow from glitter or patterned material.
Step by step: a felt wreath with a fabric bow
- Download the solid SVG and size it to 12 inches.
- Cut it from green felt, stabilized with iron-on backing for a clean cut.
- Cut the bow layer from red felt using the color file as a template.
- Glue the bow onto the top of the wreath.
- Glue a second felt wreath behind for strength, sandwiching a ribbon loop at the top.
- Hang it on an interior door or a cabinet.
Good to know
With the bow at the top, the hanging ribbon hides behind the bow, so the wreath looks tidy from every angle.
Variations to try
- Use a plaid fabric bow for a farmhouse look.
- Paint a wood version gold with a red bow.
- Add a family name in the open center.
A note on scale
Keep the bow at least an inch wide on small projects so its loops stay crisp.
