About this design
The Minimal Ring Wreath is inspired by modern hoop wreaths: a slim metal-look ring decorated with just a small sprig of greenery. Eight leaves gather on the lower left of the ring, and a small bow sits at the bottom. The rest of the hoop is left clean and open.
That open space is the point. It gives you a large, uncluttered center for a name, a monogram, a date or a short greeting.
Project ideas
- Wedding and engagement gifts. The couple’s initials inside the hoop.
- Minimal Christmas cards. “Joy” or “Noel” in your own font inside the ring.
- Monogram mugs. A hoop with a single initial.
- Nursery decor. A hoop with the baby’s name.
- Gift tags. A tiny hoop with a name on kraft tags.
Color ideas
The default color version uses a gold ring, sage leaves and a red bow. Other ideas:
- Black ring with green leaves for a modern farmhouse look
- Rose gold ring with blush leaves for a wedding
- Silver ring with white leaves for a frosty card
- All gold for an elegant monogram
Size and cutting tips
This wreath passes our cut checks from about 2 inches wide. For text inside, size the wreath first, then fit your text within the ring with at least a quarter inch of space.
The bow loops are small cut-outs; weed them first.
Step by step: a monogram mug
- Download the solid SVG and size it to 3 inches.
- Add a single initial in a simple serif or script font, sized to sit inside the hoop.
- Attach the initial to the wreath so they cut in place.
- Cut everything from gold or black permanent vinyl.
- Clean the mug with rubbing alcohol and apply the decal with transfer tape, smoothing from the center outward around the curve.
- Recommend hand-washing to keep the decal looking crisp.
Good to know
Hoop wreaths work best with lots of empty space, so resist adding extra decoration. The small sprig and bow are enough to say Christmas while keeping the look modern and calm.
Variations to try
- Move the sprig to the top in your software for a different balance.
- Use a rose-gold ring for a wedding gift.
- Add a short word, such as “Noel”, instead of an initial.
Pairs well with
