About this design

The Snowflake Ring Wreath swaps leaves for snow. Eight six-point snowflakes sit evenly around a slim ring, alternating large and small, each with its own small branches. Every snowflake overlaps the ring, so the whole wreath is one piece.

Because it is winter rather than strictly Christmas, it stays relevant well into January, which makes it a great choice for winter door decor and seasonal shirts.

Project ideas

  • Winter door hangers. Keep it up from December through February.
  • Winter wedding stationery. The couple’s names inside a snowy wreath.
  • Frosted window decals. White or etched-glass vinyl.
  • Kids’ winter shirts. A snowy wreath around a name.
  • Laser-engraved ornaments. Crisp snowflakes on dark wood.

Color ideas

The default color version uses a navy ring with ice blue snowflakes. Other ideas:

  • All white on navy for a snowy night
  • Silver and white for a frosty wedding
  • Gold snowflakes on white for an elegant card
  • Pale pink and white for a soft winter look

Size and cutting tips

The snowflake branches are fine, so this wreath passes our cut checks from about 2.5 inches wide, with the snowflakes reading best from 4 inches. Weed the waste between snowflake arms with a fine hook before lifting the outer waste.

For door hangers in wood, size it to at least 12 inches so the snowflake branches stay strong.

Step by step: a winter window decal

  1. Download the solid SVG and size it to 12 inches.
  2. Cut it from white removable vinyl or frosted etched-glass vinyl.
  3. Weed the waste from between the snowflake arms with a fine hook.
  4. Apply transfer tape and burnish well, especially over the snowflakes.
  5. Clean the window and apply the wreath from the center outward.
  6. Leave it up through January and February for a frosty winter look.

Good to know

Because it uses snowflakes instead of holly or a bow, this wreath reads as winter rather than Christmas, so it can stay up long after the decorations come down.

Variations to try

  • Add a family name inside in white vinyl.
  • Cut it in silver glitter for a party.
  • Use navy and white for a winter wedding sign.

A note on sizing

The large and small snowflakes alternate around the ring. If you need the wreath smaller than about 3 inches, delete the four small snowflakes in your software and keep the large ones, which cut more cleanly at small sizes.

Pairs well with

The Snowflake Window Bauble and the Dendrite Snowflake continue the snowy theme.
