About this design
The Arrowhead Snowflake has a sense of direction that most snowflakes do not. Each arm finishes in an open chevron, like an arrow pointing outward, and carries two pairs of side branches angled steeply toward the tip. Together they make the design feel crisp and energetic, almost like a compass or a winter sports badge.
It sits between the bold beginner designs and the lacy ones: detailed enough to look interesting, simple enough to cut from most materials without trouble.
Project ideas
- Ski and snowboard shirts. Add a resort name or a year under a 6-inch flake for a trip souvenir.
- Boys’ and teens’ holiday tees. The geometric look feels less frilly than a lacy flake.
- Gift card holders. Cut a small flake for the front of a folded cardstock gift card sleeve.
- Wall decals. Scatter several sizes in removable vinyl across a nursery or playroom wall.
- Leather or faux-leather earrings. The bold arms hold up well in thicker materials at 2 inches.
Color ideas
The default pairing is a medium blue base with a pale blue inner layer. Because the design has a sporty edge, it also works in:
- Black and white for a minimal, graphic shirt
- Orange and navy for a retro ski-lodge feel
- Silver and white glitter for a festive party decoration
- Single-color holographic vinyl for a fun tumbler decal
Size and cutting tips
This snowflake stays clean from about 2 inches wide. The chevrons have sharp inner corners, so if you are cutting from thicker materials such as felt, faux leather or glitter cardstock, size up to 3 inches so the blade has room to turn.
For iron-on, mirror the design and weed the chevrons carefully: the space inside each arrowhead is open, so the vinyl peels away easily if you start from the outer corner.
Step by step: a ski trip souvenir shirt
- Download the solid SVG and size it to 6 inches wide.
- Add your destination and year beneath it in a bold font, then attach the text to the snowflake so they cut in place.
- Mirror everything and cut from iron-on in a color that contrasts with the shirt.
- Weed the chevrons from their outer corners, then the letters.
- Press, let it cool if your vinyl is a cold peel, and peel the carrier slowly at a low angle.
- Turn the shirt inside out before washing to keep the chevron points crisp.
