About this design
The Diamond Lattice Snowflake mixes shapes in a way that feels contemporary. Each arm has a wide pair of branches ending in round dots, a second, steeper pair near the tip, and a large pointed diamond at the end. The arms meet at an open hexagon ring rather than a solid disc, which keeps the center light.
The combination of dots, diamonds and straight lines gives it the look of a lattice or a piece of geometric jewelry. It suits modern decor and minimal holiday styling especially well.
Project ideas
- Minimal Christmas cards. A single white flake on a charcoal card, nothing else.
- Jewelry and earrings. Cut 2.5-inch flakes from faux leather or laser-cut them from acrylic.
- Modern mugs. Black or white permanent vinyl on a plain stoneware mug.
- Frosted glass vases. Etched-glass vinyl makes a vase into a winter centerpiece.
- Gift wrap stamps. Cut it from adhesive foam and mount it on an acrylic block as a stamp.
Color ideas
The default navy with pale blue suits most projects. For a modern look, try:
- Charcoal and white
- Sage green and cream
- Black and gold leaf
- Dusty rose and silver
Size and cutting tips
The dots on the branches and the tips of the diamonds are the slimmest parts of this design, so it needs about 2.5 inches to cut cleanly. For faux leather or felt earrings, go to 3 inches so the dots hold their shape.
When cutting acrylic or wood on a laser, the open hexagon ring makes a natural spot for a jump ring if you are making ornaments or pendants.
Step by step: faux-leather earrings
- Download the solid SVG and size it to 2.5 inches.
- Mirror one copy so the pair is symmetrical, and cut both from faux leather with a deep-cut or knife blade.
- Peel the faux leather slowly off a strong-grip mat.
- Use the open hexagon center or the tip of the top arm to attach a jump ring.
- Add earring hooks with flat-nose pliers.
- For a two-tone look, glue a second, slightly smaller layer in metallic faux leather to the front.
Why the open center helps
The hexagon ring in the middle is not just decoration. It gives you a ready-made hole for a jump ring, a ribbon or a hook, so you never need to punch through a delicate arm. On a laser it also makes a natural spot to start the cut, which keeps thin pieces steady on the bed.
Pairs well with
The Harlequin Diamond Bauble carries the diamond theme onto an ornament, and the Hexagon Window Snowflake shares the open hexagon center.
