About this design
The Heart Tip Snowflake swaps the usual diamond or dot for a small heart at the end of each arm. One pair of side branches sits halfway along every arm, and the arms meet at a round center. It keeps the classic snowflake structure, so it still reads instantly as a snowflake, but the hearts soften it into something warm and personal.
That makes it one of the most versatile designs in the collection: it works for Christmas, for a winter wedding, for baby’s first Christmas and right through to Valentine’s Day.
Project ideas
- Valentine’s cards and tags. Cut it from red glitter cardstock for a “snow much love” card.
- Baby’s first Christmas. Layer it on a round wood ornament with the baby’s name and year.
- Kids’ shirts. A 5-inch flake in pink or red iron-on suits a toddler’s holiday outfit.
- Teacher gifts. Add it to a mug or tumbler with permanent vinyl.
- Winter wedding favors. Use small flakes as stickers on favor boxes or as confetti.
Color ideas
The default is a bright holly red with a soft pink inner layer. Some alternatives:
- Pink and white for a baby girl’s first Christmas
- Pale blue and white for a baby boy
- Red and white for a candy-cane combination
- Gold and blush for an elegant wedding version
Use the “Make it one color” button for a single-layer cut, and the design keeps its outline perfectly.
Size and cutting tips
The hearts and branches are well proportioned, so this snowflake passes our cut checks from about 2 inches wide, which suits stickers, tags and confetti. For shirt designs, 4 to 6 inches on a child’s shirt and 8 inches on an adult’s looks balanced.
The notch at the top of each heart is the one spot to watch when weeding small sizes. Peel the waste vinyl slowly past the hearts so they do not lift.
Step by step: a teacher’s mug
- Download the solid SVG and size it to 3 inches tall.
- Cut it from red permanent vinyl, along with the teacher’s name in a simple font.
- Weed carefully around the hearts so their notches stay crisp.
- Wipe the mug with rubbing alcohol and let it dry.
- Apply the snowflake to one side of the mug with transfer tape, smoothing from the center outward so it wraps the curve.
- Add the name underneath, and recommend hand-washing to keep the decal looking new.
