About this design
The Classic Striped Candy Cane is the shape you expect: a straight shaft rising to a round hook that curves over to the right. What sets it apart is the stripes. They are placed along the cane itself at an angle, so they wrap around the hook just like the twisted stripes on a real candy cane.
The solid file is a single plain cane silhouette, and the color file has two layers: the cane body and the stripes. Cut them from red and white, or any colors you like.

Size and cutting tips
This cane passes our cut checks from about 1.5 inches tall, so it works for stickers and tags as well as shirts. For two-color iron-on, press the red cane first, then line up the white stripes using the cane’s outline and press again.
For a one-cut striped look, try the Striped Window Candy Cane instead.
Step by step: classroom candy cane tags
- Download the solid SVG and size it to 2.5 inches tall.
- Duplicate it to fill a mat, one cane per child.
- Cut the canes from white cardstock.
- Use your machine’s pen tool, or a red marker, to draw the stripes, following the color file as a guide.
- Write each child’s name on the shaft and punch a hole near the top of the hook.
- Tie each tag to a real candy cane with thin ribbon.
Good to know
Because the stripes follow the cane rather than running straight across, the design looks right at any angle, so you can tilt it on a card without the stripes looking wrong.
Variations to try
- Flip it horizontally for a left-hook partner.
- Make the stripes gold for an elegant version.
Pairs well with
The Left-Hook Candy Cane is its mirror-image partner, and the Peppermint Swirl Candy completes a candy set.
