About this design
The Chevron Christmas Tree is built from seven bold, upside-down V shapes stacked on a central trunk line. Each chevron is wider than the one above, so together they make a crisp triangular tree, and a five-point star sits on top. The strokes are thick and the ends rounded, giving it a sturdy, graphic feel.
It sits between the very minimal line trees and the solid classic tree: detailed enough to look interesting, bold enough to read from across a room.

Size and cutting tips
The chevrons have thick, rounded strokes, so this design passes our cut checks from about 2 inches tall. It also handles glitter iron-on and felt well.
The star is a separate piece from the chevron tree, so group them before resizing.
Step by step: a painted canvas
- Download the solid SVG and size it to fill about three-quarters of the canvas height.
- Cut it from removable adhesive vinyl and weed the tree itself out, leaving a stencil.
- Paint the canvas a dark background color and let it dry fully.
- Apply the stencil, burnishing the inside edges of every chevron.
- Brush on metallic gold paint in thin coats, letting each coat dry.
- Peel the stencil while the last coat is slightly wet, then touch up any rough edges with a fine brush.
Good to know
The chevrons are threaded on a continuous trunk line, so the tree holds together as one piece even when you cut it from thin, flexible materials like adhesive vinyl or tissue-weight paper. Only the star sits separately, which makes it easy to swap for a different topper: try the heart from the Heart Cut-Out tree or a small snowflake for a winter version.
Pairs well with
The Fishbone Branch Christmas Tree is its slimmer, more delicate sibling, and the Arrowhead Snowflake shares the chevron motif.
