About this design
The Twisted Icicle Ornament is long and slender, tapering from a wide top to a fine point. Four diagonal bands cross it at a slight angle, splitting it into five sections that suggest the spiral of a twisted glass icicle. A wide cap and loop sit at the top.
It brings vertical rhythm to a tree full of round baubles and looks especially pretty in icy blues, clear acrylic and silver.

Size and cutting tips
This design passes our cut checks from about 2 inches tall, though its slender shape looks best from 4 to 6 inches. Because it is five pieces plus the cap, keep it grouped and use transfer tape for vinyl.
For a one-piece icicle, weld the sections together in your software before cutting.
Step by step: clear acrylic icicles
- Download the solid SVG and size it to 5 inches tall.
- Cut a batch from 3 mm clear or frosted acrylic, keeping the protective film on.
- Peel the film and wipe each piece clean.
- Lay the five sections of each icicle on a strip of clear tape or glue them to a thin clear backing to keep the gaps even.
- Add a silver jump ring through the loop at the top.
- Hang them at different heights near the tips of the branches, where real icicles would form.
Good to know
The diagonal gaps are what create the twisted look; keep them even when assembling and the icicle will appear to spiral.
Variations to try
- Cut the sections from alternating clear and frosted acrylic for a candy-twist look.
- Use the outline file with a silver pen for winter card fronts.
- Make a row of five in graduated lengths for a window valance.
